London’s Best Kept Secret

The Welsh Harp is a body of water in Wembley which is only a few miles from the centre of London. The main activities are sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. You can learn to sail, wind surf or canoe with one of the clubs on the Harp.

The Welsh Harp Sailing Association is the main body which manages the site on behalf of the clubs on the Harp.

The clubs

Phoenix Canoe Club

Phoenix Canoe Club is affiliated to the British Canoe Union and accredited with Sport England’s “Club Mark” and operates a progressive programme of training & activities including river trips, whitewater and surf training. Membership is open to children over 9 and adults. We are open most Sundays from 12 noon – 4.30pm. The club operates an equal opportunities policy & offers paddlesport for all.

Regatta Safety Boating Base

Regatta Safety Boating Base ( RSBB ) is a training centre to teach individuals in water safety and first aid. This compliments the sailing and wind surfing activities on the Welsh Harp and the River Thames. They are based on the Welsh Harp. See their web site for more details.

Sea Cadets

The Marine Society, more familiarly known as the Sea Cadets, have a base on the Harp which provides tuition to Sea Cadets on sailing and rowing.

Welsh Harp Sailing Club

WHSC will teach you to sail or windsurf, you can race GP14s and Lasers, go offshore and indulge in social activities from quiz nights to ski trips.

Wembley Sailing Club

Wembley SC is open to all and provides teaching and racing in a variety of boats.
